Bill; I have seen many references to crashes etc in Wintels, and I do not see them very often. Perhaps once a month do I crash. I use win95, the 32 bit FAT version. I agree Apples are easier to learn to use by non techies, but I am happy on both Apples and Wintels. Network automation is better on Apple also, as every Apple is a network Apple.
I have often wondered why Gates did not impose a similar standard on Wintels. The part count would be minimal. I suspect networks evolved into disparate ways while DOS held sway and when Windows came along he had to adapt to a dozen network possibilities, and just left it open for any one to be set up.
So to place head in sand with sure knowledge of superiority is not a viable option. All must urge Apple to get better and cheaper, and to run faster than Wintel. We have all seen what failing to do that can do. I hope Jobs can see it as well.
He has done some goo and some bad things in my view. History will tell if Jobs of me was correct about clones.
