Sorry, but I think that result is due to the effective military pressure Israel brought to bear, not because of any efforts of the UN. I don't agree that the Bush Administration has bullied its way around the world. I think it has called a spade a spade and acted accordingly. The rest of the world, with few exceptions, is merely gutless. Democrats will raise taxes, but it will be to finance their agenda, not to balance the budget. Barack Obama is getting a lot of press, but I don't see what he has to offer. Democrats proved their military prowess in Mogadishu and Bosnia. That's not all bad, because they shot up so many cruise missiles we had to replace them with upgrades.
