You might be underestimating the pressure the stock price has on a company. Options are a big part of compensation for employees in this day and age, then there is the street pressure to perform. How will management and employees handle a stock price that goes sideways for 6 or more months after it has moved around and drop so much? Will key employees get bored or frustrated, and move on? Also, the economic picture has changed. The time line in NTAPs existence. Plus, competitive outlook might be changing before our very eyes. Sure NTAP management has done a Hell of job in the past, and it's proof they know what they are doing, but the past few years was an easier environment to operate in then it will be going forward. At least that's how I see it.
