I joined DeBeers when I was a young kaffir as a washerboy and diamond thief. Later they made me head of security and I had to shoot other diamond thieves on sight on the forbidden coast. I was making a fortune picking gold from their teeth and selling their bones as ivory when one of the headmen, a boer, recognized my industry and promoted me to head man. I had 200 men under me and 12 jacklegs and could shoot who I wanted. Good job. Later when they recognized that I was pro rata honest and would only steal what would not be missed they made me a mine foreman and later I was invited to join the board when it became apparent that DeKlerk was going to allow a majority vote. I am white but being raised by blacks I thought I was black..this is important. I had heard that you gave up stealing when someone told you that businessmen made more money stealing off the government. Tell us your story. EC<:-}
