Background and Question: My aging mother, who grew up in the Cincinnati area
(as did I) and has about $100K worth of BRW, called this morning with a
question. Her broker who manages her stocks called yesterday suggesting she
sell around $50K of the BRW stock and he would reinvest it in something that
would pay around 5 3/4% interest. His rationale was that the cessation of
dividends could be replaced with the interest income which in her current state
(Michigan) would be tax free. All this was to provide more income for my
mother, although there would be about $8K in taxes from the stock sale she would
have pay next year. She has never followed the market and wondered what I
thought of the broker's recommendation.

She said she doesn't need the income. And I ran a quick check of BRW this
morning and learned about its new business and its remarkable increase in value
since early November. My gut feeling is this stock is a keeper and that it
stands to grow even more this year. Is that a fair assessment or is the current
rise a fluke?

Any opinions would be appreciated.
