About 40 closely and 200 more loosely. The composition changes over time, so I forget sometimes about a couple (Our favourites from last year, CCSI, CYPH, ENML, DAOU, ETEL,...FIBR, PRBZ are somewhat off my view). So I missed shorting SCUR, which was a pick of John in Autumn, but eventually SCUR ran to 30 in Jan... and trades at 4 now.
Reading SEC filings I got to know many different companies and "investors - financiers".
Many of the stocks are old ladies o' roll so it is not too difficult to check out how they trade.
When my portfolio contains too many different stocks, I simply wipe off the worst performers - both ways.
I like SPDE very much,... because I bought my initial position at 1 1/16 - on March 22nd, along the time I got RIBI for 1.5, which was also a nice trade, although never as good. #reply-8473694 Get a chart and look at the last hour for SPDE on March 22th. When something like that happens...it may be risky, but it is also free money. |
