This is true of almost any stock for any company. WItness the rise of Disney stock before the release of each of their movies. Regardless of whether the product meets earnings expectations, or performance expectations, there is nearly always a downward readjustment of the stock after an anticipatory rise. That's the nature of the market.

MSFT is trading at less than 10% below its all time high, despite the pounding the market has taken the last few days. The stock has never taken what I would call a 'dive', and, IMO, isn't likely to anytime soon, barring a stock market crash.
