When I originally became interested and invested in the co., sales and earnings were growing about 20% over that of the previous year. At the PE multiple it was trading at, it was very attractive.
Subsequently, sales have dropped off and they've had a poor product introduction.
My investment partner and I are sticking around as we see really not a lot of downside at current prices, as we feel that all the bad news has been priced into the stock.
To be honest, I'm not expecting a lot of sales growth in 1Q '97 and would be quite happy if they can approximate what they did in 1Q '96.
I'd likely be out of here, converting my paper loss to real, if mgmt. fails to improve on their marketing outlook that was contained in this week's announcement.
In effect, I'm looking for signs of life on the part of mgmt. in the near term more so than a good 1Q. I can't see myself sticking around if they fail again on both counts.
To answer your question, I really don't have a good feel as to earnings, so I don't have a benchmark that has to be reached in the short-term. Patience will remain only if mgmt. says that its warranted.
