Hi Salah: I completely share your optimism about Novell after this earning report. I did find the last one o.k. but this one, to me, it was a pleasant surprise. I bet it is also so for many analysts. The last analysis I see yesterday said that they have little confidence about Novell meeting their expectation. In this sense, the earnings represent a positive surprise and the stock should reflect that soon. Add to that the statement by the CFO that the company will have no problem meeting next year's numbers which will be over 100% sequential growth over this year, and the stock can support any PE it wants. A key factor is the initial success of their intranet entrprise for this is where the company wants to be and by which it redifined itself, and the stock is like an IPO. I never believed in last week's talk about buyout or merger, and I was expecting to be deceived by the earnings. Maybe that is why I feel very positive now and I don't understand the negative feeling which prevailed in almost all the post-earning release posts that I read so far on this board until I read yours. By your conclusions, you took the words out of my mouth. Yes, this is the first good earning report I see since I started looking a NOVL, and the last time earnings were similar the stock was trading much higher than 11. The trend then was down. This time, the trend should be up. Thanks. Ghassan.
