Some more details on AMD's new performance rating tecchannel.de An AMD spokesperson didn't want to comment the rumors but she said that it could be e.g. a good idea to use SPECint scores divided by clock-speed as a measurement for performance. Apparently an 1.4 GHz Athlon has here the upper hand compared to a 1.7 GHz Pentium 4. A representative of a large OEM confirmed the rumors from Tom's Hardware and said that the new 1.53 GHz Palomino would be rated 1700+. He called it "the dumbest idea they ever had". Plus: Techannel has obtained a document from an anonymous source that advertises an Athlon XP 1700+. Andreas
