The New Western Desert Gold Rush or desert dirt area play as some have called is the area comprised of Southern Nevada, Arizona and desert plains of California. The area play entered a new stage today with the events in Indonesia. The day's events will be looked upon in the future as the key turning point for the desert dirts. The land rush will now accelerate tenfold. The desert dirts will end up being the saviors of the junior mining industry and include International Precious Metals, Maxam, LS Capital, GPGI, Canadian Mining Company, Naxos, MG Gold, Delgratia, NuApex and USPS. This will be the new "safe" area play for the hundreds of juniors that are now playing Indonesia. Capital will flow to the desert dirts away from Indonesia. Future supply of gold from Indonesia just dried up to a large degree. Imagine the difference in cost to explore Indonesia versus the western desert!! The desert mineral plays are going to change the face of mining. IMO a shotgun approach as opposed to a rifle approach must be taken in this area for investment success. Each achievement of a desert mineral play is beneficial to the entire area since the world is yet to believe in any of them. Only a few have the foresight to see and comprehend any of the above. If you are one of those, consider yourself fortunate. For me today IPM's .25 ounces per ton of AU looks better than yesterday. 1997 will be the year of the desert dirts!!!!
