Ah, yeah right. Chuckster, have you done any travel outside the US. Some of the places I have lived and work are Cameroon, Mauritania, India, Vietnam, Yemen, Nigeria, Colombia, Venezuela, Italy, Germany, etc. I'm also a communication consultant, held in some circles, with some high regard. Omnitracs is a piece of QCOM increasing puzzle. If this was their only product you would absolutely be right.
However, with the worlds inadequate communication infrastucture, wireless is the vessel to provide this needed services. Wireline, or what you are accustomed to two wires, is far to expensive to implement and maintain. QCOM future earnings are going to come from upgrades of the US & worldwide cellular infrastructure, PCS deployment in the industrialized nations, and high tier third world deployment of wireless local loop. Trucking business is and will be a smaller and shrinking piece of QCOM total fabric. I'd get rid of your leap put, after a pullback and instead go for a leap call.
As for stock holder lawsuits, hey everyone are you dissatisfied with the stocks performance. I've own it since it was in the 20's. I've sold on some big runups and bought back in on pullbacks; keenly aware of the timetables of deployment of the wireless revolution. I've made far more money than I'll lose. It's only a loss if you sell it. Today I unload my Feb 45 and 50 calls, for a nice profit. I'll wait and see about the stock. However, the stock is in the early stage of some spectacular growth due to wireless operations.
I am not a person who believes in frivolous lawsuits. This country really needs to institute the British system of civil law; if you lose you pay the cost for the one you brought the suit against. All investments are at risk. Ever been through a crash, I have. |
