Hi Dennis,
Personal experience is that there is some initial flurry of activity, then volume sort of dries up after the news is digested. For many stocks, this isn't a good thing. Small companies get "lost" on the big board and take a while to get noticed. If the company is a good one, it will eventually get noticed.

My Jabil Circuits (JBL) moved from NASDAQ to NYSE earlier this year and this same pattern was true there as well.
