I find your comments to Penni to be quite interesting. (And reminding me of my example re explaining relational databases....)

Dealing with religious and philosophical subjects does present a particular strain on language, perhaps even upon our ability to conceptualize sufficiently to put into verbal language at all.

I am reminded of the medieval period and its relatively low rate of literacy. So much of the communication of religious concepts was through the stained glass windows of the cathedrals. They were not merely decorative and prompting of contemplation; they were a medium of communicating an entire concept through the use of symbol.
