I was thinking of instances on my own campus in which racial and sexual slurs pasted on dorm room doors occurred. We had, at least once a year, some sort of beating of an openly gay male... The campus PC crowd found themselves in the awkward situation of defending these actions as permissible... These aren't instances of free speech in my book; they are instances of racial and/or sexual harassment. Hi John, I didn't realize how far behind the times our Armed Forces are. They still think assault is a criminal event not a reason for a pc discussion.. In the Army such beatings are still considered criminal and the perps are routinely and immediately locked up in pre-trial confinement, in the stockade. This is always true if the beating takes place in the barracks. uw
