ITeX and Taiwan's CCL/ITRI Sign MOU for ADSL Chipsets And Joint Product Development
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Telecom Express, Inc. (ITeX) today announced that they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Computer and Communication Research Laboratories/Industrial Technology Research Institute (CCL/ITRI), a prestigious and influential research and development lab in Taiwan. Under the terms of this initial agreement, ITeX will be one of CCL/ITRI's primary ADSL chipset suppliers. Accordingly, CCL/ITRI will design an ADSL application system for its consortium, which is made up of more than 14 leading modem manufactures and OEMs. ITeX will supply CCL/ITRI with its G.dmt and G.lite compliant Apollo ADSL Chipsets and host-based G.lite Scalable ADSL Modem (SAM) Chipset, both compatible with T1.413 standard central office equipment. A formal contract between the two parties is expected in early 1999.

''One of our most important missions at CCL/ITRI is to provide our consortium with state-of-the-art technology to help accelerate manufacturing of advanced solutions for the market,'' said Dr. Tzung-Pao Lin, Director of Communications Systems Division of CCL.

Lin continued, ''ITeX's range of ADSL chipset solutions are extremely flexible, cost-effective and compatible with major ADSL central office equipment, all elements which will be very attractive to our consortium members.''
