Virus found a niche. Old people. Researchers on Monday announced the most comprehensive estimates to date of elderly people’s elevated risk of serious illness and death from the new coronavirus: Covid-19 kills an estimated:
13.4% of patients 80 and older, compared to 1.25% of those in their 50s and 0.3% of those in their 40s.

The sharpest divide came at age 70. Although 4% of patients in their 60s died, more than twice that, or 8.6%, of those in their 70s did, Neil Ferguson of Imperial College London and his colleagues estimated in their paper, published in Lancet Infectious Diseases.

ELMAT NOTES:

Owing to the high rates of deaths of old people, and politicians are old, they took decisions based on their personal fear factors.

Onset-to-Death is short. Thus the alarming number used to instigate fear into people

Onset-to-recover is longer. Once data is available that shows the vast majority recovers it is not shown to people in curves like this.

The best experiment was the Diamaond Princess which had a lot of old people within the passenger population

Data on cases and deaths on the Diamond Princess cruise ship In early February 2020 a cruise liner named the Diamond Princess was quarantined after a disembarked passenger tested positive for the virus. Subsequently all 3711 passengers on board were tested over the next month. We extracted data on the ages of passengers onboard on Feb 5, 2020, the dates of positive test reports, which were available for 657 out of 712 PCR-confirmed cases, and the dates of ten deaths among these cases from the reports of the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare19 and international media
UNQUOTE

Why the data of Diamond Princess cruise ship not extrapolated to the rest of the population and there are crazy ideas to test the whole population?
