This statement from Woolworth's (Foot Locker parent) quarterly report is probably hurting FEET a little today. FEET already has released good sales numbers though, so the effect should be small. "Sales during the holiday selling season proved disappointing, particularly for our athletic group of specialty stores," said Roger Farah, Woolworth's chairman and chief executive officer. "Not only did consumers delay making purchases until the final two weeks of the holiday season, they also shopped for extra value, notably in branded apparel merchandise, which influenced an already very promotional selling environment."
