Tax deduction of PCs really made good PC sales the last couple of years, which will probably decline next year in Denmark. I'm not sure how the systems work in the other EU countries, but since european tax is much higher than in the U.S. (I pay >65% of what I earn), tax deduction of PCs is an extremely powerful way of increasing the computer knowledge in the population.

Since I don't know about U.S. tax systems, you might be interested to know, that the private phone bill can also be deducted from tax if it is paid by the employer and the employee agrees to an increased tax equivalent to an extra income of $300 a year.

And for investors: if we keep our stocks 3 years we pay no tax for increased value...
