"Also continuing to look at freight forwarders (who are not dependent on owning planes). EXPD my fav in that sector. (I like the ceo.) Also too expensive for me for a value stock as I view it."

I watched CHRW and EXPD for the longest time with hope that I could get them cheaper, and now that they're looking cheaper I'm not so sure. I finally got into CHRW last spring but sold after the most recent earnings report after loss and not liking what I heard in the call at all. EXPD another similar that's showing up on screens now but I haven't followed their recent story, but am going to look into.

I filtered through a bottom-feeder model I'm working on and wanted to leave some symbols for folks interested. The model attempts to identify companies that have had fairly desirable businesses in the recent past who are having tough time currently - but should have potential if they can get back on track (assuming the business model isn't broken).

SPLS Staples - I'm quite interested in this after looking last night. Undergoing business transformation to be more online based. Interested to see upcoming quarter results.

BIG Big Lots - struggling, closing stores. Seems their business has a defendable niche though if they focus on it.

EXC Exelon (utility/power producer)

DGX and LH / Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp of America - discussed on thread recently

DV and APEI - for profit educational cos. I've turned negative on them, but they keep turning in good numbers despite what I think is probably unsustainable value proposition, funding.

POT Potash - If I recall pricing cartel has weakened. (I think AGU was also showing up but I didn't write it down on my paper so not sure)

CLF Cliffs - iron ore - I've lost money on this one before, but I might be back for more. Value is very low, but can pricing stabilize.

QSII - Quality Systems - hospital records - billing systems.

LHCG - home health - I've had this one before - and it's actually not in the dumps, but the valuation metrics tripped the screen metrics. I was surprised to see it on this screen actually

EXPD and CHRW. Expeditor's and CH Robinson. These have been really solid business in the past, tougher times currently. I need to understand what's happening here better.
