That is why Elephants live for such a long time, because it takes to long to finish a conversation at 0.5 baud. To say hello takes a whole minute and half. "Brevity is the soul of wit" is actually an Elephant saying.

There are many elephants in BC. The variety there is so well camouflaged that they are almost totally invisible. Since they hear so well, they have advance notice of humans approaching and hide in recesses and change colour to match their surroundings (they are technically known as Chamelephants). They are able to suspend their respiration and blend in with the scenery, so that even on close inspection they are not detected. You have probably had lunch right next to an Elephant and not noticed them, thinking they were a cliff or a tree. Now that the govmint has discovered invisible Elephants they will use the absence of sightings as evidence that areas should be protected against habitat depredation.
