Malcolm was CEO until NTAP's venture capitalists somehow persuaded him to go. I am not sure whether he was a "founder" or not. As far as I know, James Lau and Dave Hitz are the original founders. I don't know the details M's involvement or departure. It happened before NTAP's IPO and I seem to recall some lawsuit about the whole thing in the 1996-7 timeframe. CFLO is a competitor in the web caching arena.
