Bill: I was referring to the professional and Broadcast end of the business, and about that I am not wrong. Avid, Media 100 and Immix dominate the market worldwide. ALL are Mac based. Avid does make a low end WINTEL system, but it is not selling well and does not have all the feature sof the MAC based systems. Avid is also coming out with a major new release in January...for the MAC OS only.

Avid is to professional editing what Kleenex is to snot removal. It has the largest market share.

As far as Adobe goes, AFTER FX is a big thing in the professional arena, and most people are running it on Macs.

Premiere is not a serious professional editing package either on the Mac or Wintel. It is prosumer software at best.

BTW, last I heard, Quark was a page layout program.

Your friends must have sold their 500 systems in lower Slobodia, they certainly don't exist in the Broadcast market. Get your facts straight and stop shoveling bull. I am a broadcast editor (with mulitple Emmy nominations) and I know my industry.
