<< They impose hefty tariffs on wheat and lumber to protect their own people and starve out thousands on the coast of British Columbia, including some of my family >> Aha! Now we get to the core of the problem. I thought that you were just some rebel, knocking the US because of jealousy, or just because you were bored and needed something to do. So....., to get back at America for tariffs, that effect your family, and that you feel are unfair, you are going to attack "almost" everything American. That is what I call "the real truth". I don't know enough about American tariffs with Canada. I looked it up with Google and found out America exempted Canada from punitive steel tariffs, in March 2002, but that Canada was embroiled in trade disputes with the United States over softwood lumber, wheat and dairy products, at that time. Sounds like things haven't been getting any better for you, on those tariffs. ca.news.yahoo.com I am sorry, and sad, that an American trade policy is harmful to your town and family. You will notice that I have not said anything to knock Canada. Especially, not after what happened in Gander. I am still amazed that a small town of 10,000 people, in Canada, was able to mobilize it's citizens, and the citizens of surrounding towns, to help with 6,000 stranded passengers, from all over the world, including a lot from America. Canadians performed the impossible on Sept 11th, 2001. It shows how resourceful Canadians are. Here is a note that I had previously written about it: Message 18014817 |
