Americans endured all of the following for Carter's 4 yrs in the WH--an energy crisis, spiraling inflation, and concern for the fate of 52 American hostages held in Iran. Pres Reagan would've found a way to apply pressure for their release, while Carter continually looked weak and powerless. He's considered one of the modern era's most ineffectual presidents. I admired Carter when he kept busy as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity; however, in recent yrs he has done more harm than good to our country. I really believe he's suffering from the first stages of senility.
