Definitely not Objectivism. Smithian-Hayekianism perhaps, although I'm not doctrinaire. Remember when and how The Economist got started. Reminds me of the comment that when you get two Libertarians in a room, you have at least three splinter groups. I'm married to an early LP activist, so I know this first hand. In any event, the historical pattern of mercantile boom and bust is well established (Dutch, British, now the Japanese), but I don't think I'd trade stocks on it, except for expecting the cycle.
