I agree with your WAG. I seem to remember TeraStor tip toeing around several manufacturers looking for money but not willing to give much power.

I don't think their technology is a slam dunk yet. Yes they have capability of much more capacity but what have we seen in cost or speed? Either of these items could be huge obstacles given the progress in current technologies.
