Max to finish off my reply....I don't think they are going to make it on their own....No matter what they develop in CVD and PVD....they will never have enough money to make it...They need alot of money to pedal new technology.

However, someone may still want to buy them...Take LRCX...they have a good etch program....But they could still use the MORI source. LRCX is about to dump their CVD program and they have no PVD program.

The stage looks like it's set for a LRCX buyout...TRKN lays off all the etch folks...LRCX dosen't need them...they shut down the Chatsworth facility for the most part and move all remaining stuff up to their Fremont location to continue to develop MORI. The low k and the regular flowfill provide a CVD technology that is in successful use today and the Forcefill provides a working Al PVD solution with Cu around the corner. That would round off LRCX's bag of tools fairly well...etch, CVD, PVD, CMP, and CU (dual damasene)R&D in progress.

Sounds good to me....wonder how Greg feels about it.

Plus Bagley talked about some event in November that would enhance their Oxide etch systems....I wonder if that was a hint of an acquisition.
