I typically post links so there is never a concern about whether or not I would be infringing on copyrights by doing a cut/paste. Readers can also be sure that the source is in fact legit, rather than clever text with a phony byline, such as recently occurred with the Pairgain fraud case.

Otherwise I agree, it's much easier to read in-line.
