"CHOOSE THE NUMBER CONNECTION DOCTOR CALLS

You can choose a local phone number against which to run the Norton
Connection Doctor test, if you like. Otherwise, Connection Doctor will
test your system by dialing a Symantec remote test server in the San
Francisco Bay area, which may be a toll call for you.

With your online connection closed, launch Connection Doctor from the
Norton Utilities Group on your Start Menu. Click the Check All button
to run its system, modem, and dialing test simultaneously.

When Connection Doctor gets to the dialing test suite, a dialog box
will pop up to ask whether you would like to connect to the Symantec
server or a phone number of your choosing. Type in a local phone
number if you like, and Connection Doctor will remember this phone
number and prompt you to use it next time.

You also have an opportunity to upload your system characteristics if
you choose the Symantec server by checking the box next to Send System
Information. Connection Doctor can perform a few more tests relating
to phone line quality if you choose the Symantec server."
