Everything is secondary. There is no silver bullet solution, that should be obvious.

But this legislation moves us farther away from a solution, not closer.

I wished we had a public option, but we don't

The public option would have been a disaster. But they knew it would be stripped and prepared for it. There are provisions in this legislation that will collapse the health care system as we now know it, resulting in what amounts to a public option over time. If the bill becomes law you're going to get what you want, even those most people in the country don't want it.

...so it seems that our political system is unable to pull together a more perfect bill. These are not reasons to oppose the bill. You fight to get what you want and then you compromise...and that's how it works.

This bill was crafted in precisely the same manner Saddam would have crafted it.
