Well said. It does, however depend on the nature of the religion in question - and on its prevailing interpretation.

Jesus Christ separated Church and State by ordering to keep separate what belongs to God - and what goes to Caesar. Jews never fought to convert others into their faith: they were Chosen, and it is God's business - and not man's - to decide who will know Him.

It would seem that a fundamentalist, literal interpretation of Islam would require followers to make believers out of everyone on earth. Most Muslims do not seem to follow this dictum, but unfortunately, many do. They should better work it out among themselves.
