As of June, California utilities have signed over eight gigawatts of solar contracts ... half of which are below the price of new natural gas generation. That's right. Gigawatts of solar cheaper than the fossil fuel alternatives.

So why are we bombarded by clean coal, NG , tar sands yadayada in the media creating 1 million of new jobs- ?
I tell you why - because solar power is abundant and fossil fuel is not.
The idea to "create" energy from an abundant source (like solar) does not fit the traditional supply and demand scheme because there is abundant supply of solar - you only have to build it to harvest it.
Wallstreet and the Koch brothers don't own the sun - otherwise they would push solar.

Otherwise two wars on borrowed money combined with taxcuts and a housing bubble that created zero exports willl probably kill an economy no matter what
