bede, regarding QP2:
1. Very smooth implementation. 2. Excellent, trouble-free daily downloads and database updates. Fast. 3. Very quick charts. Black background makes some lines hard to see. 4. Number of indicators limited on charts, but enough to get the idea of stock health. 5. Keyboard 1-stroke keys for most used functions (see the CAPS): Daily/Weekly, Macd, Rsi, obV, cHaikin money flow, Stochastics, spLit history, Periods to display, Fundamentals, etc.. 6. Easy (for some) programming language identical to a subset of BASIC for creating your own search criteria. (I wish there were a more robust instruction set: static variables, arrays, File I/O, etc.. Gary, why not implement the whole language? Heh, heh.)
Overall, it is perfect for me, a beginning TA person who is still reading the books. I love getting the fundamentals at the touch of a finger. I wish NEWS were integrated by date as well. (GARY?????) Once I can recognize chart and trading patterns instantly, I may want to supplement or switch to a more robust system, but that won't be for a year or more.
QP2 is the perfect entry point for people choosing their first daily data feed and charting program. |
