Many good and innocent priests will also become victims, as some have reported being spit on in the streets, cursed, and the like, because of the collars that they wear. It would be a shame if this happened. IMO, people need the Catholic Church and the Catholic church needs to maintain its sense of authority with its parishioners through this extremely difficult time in its history. The bulk of my concern goes to the victims of the sexual abuse. It strikes me as odd that your expressed concern seems to lie more with the innocent priests than the innocent victims, however.
