So things should be 1,000 times worse in the USA.

I have long envied the Icelanders for being able to read their ancient epics in the original language with little additional study. In one of them, a warrior is killed with a spear as he tries to escape from a house that has been set on fire. He comments on the situation: "They sure do make spears sharp nowadays."

Maybe someone will say, "They sure do make leveraged derivatives dangerous nowadays."
