'Battle Ready'

I have it on reserve. I have been having a very pleasurable summer reading Dorothy Dunnett's "House of Niccolo" series. She is a Scottish Author who writes historical fiction. This series is based upon 15th century Europe.

She combines a terrific storytelling ability with excellent research of the period. And gives you a wonderful picture of the life and civilizations of the time. It is eight books of about 600 pages each. The rise of a poor Flemish apprentice dyemaker to the head of his own Venice Bank.

Start with "Niccolo Rising." Great series.
