Let's see- woman murdered on porch- I am guessing tax resistor was involved? Perhaps a standoff?
Let's not forget that he was found not guilty, and he was as I recall unarmed when his wife was shot. She, unfortunately, didn't get the opportunity to stand trial for anything. The death penalty was meted out to her.
One of the reasons that conspiracy mania flourishes is that the FBI has never admitted that they were wrong in any of these cases, has never apologized to anybody, but claims that they were perfectly in the right. They have been proven to lie on at least one major point, Randy Weaver was found not guilty but his wife is dead anyhow, and yet the FBI claims they did everything right. If that's right acting by law enforcement, something major is wrong. It's because they lie and conceal that conspiracy theorists can make the hay they do, because once you lie about something, then it's a lot easier to get people to believe that you lie about other things. If the FBI were upfront and honest, if they admitted when they made mistakes, if they were candid with their bosses (us -- remember the concept of government of, by, and for the people?), then conspiracy theorists would have a much harder time getting the attention they do.
