Considering the exposure of the people of England to beef, and beef products, it seems odd that only 28 people died in the peak year. If it were like AIDS you would expect a large number of infected people to gradually emerge from the population. This does not appear to be the case, since this is not happening.

Sure, it's something to protect ourselves from. But a big danger? I don't think so. I am looking at the deaths over a multi-year period, the actual deaths- not looking at a single "datum".

Risk perception. You bet. Mad cow is just another lemming scare.
