Man, 75, Attacked In Election Spat 53-Year-Old Arrested On Felony Battery Charge October 31, 2008 local6.com DeLAND, Fla. -- A 75-year-old man was hospitalized after another man shoved him into a fire hydrant during an argument about the upcoming election, DeLand police said. Timothy L. Rundle, 53, faces charges of felony battery after allegedly pushing William Hunter on Thursday near the intersection of Woodland Boulevard and New York Avenue in DeLand. Hunter was displaying a sign for Republican presidential contender Sen. John McCain, and he was asked to leave by a group of people who were displaying signs supporting Democratic presidential candiate Sen. Barack Obama because Hunter was causing a disturbance, according to a dispatcher's log. Hunter fell onto the sidewalk after being pushed and was taken to a hospital, a DeLand police report said. His condition is not known. Rundle posted a $2,500 bail and was released Friday morning from the Volusia County Jail. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
