Another blue state rejects gay marraige

New Jersey preserves traditional marriage

New Jersey is now the 32nd state to endorse the traditional definition of marriage
as being between one man and one woman. A same-sex marriage bill, championed by outgoing Governor Jon Corzine and State Senate President Dick Codey, went down in defeat 20 - 14 this afternoon.

Finally we can put gay marriage behind us. Governor-elect Chris Christie has stated that he is opposed to same-sex marriage and won't sign any legislation supporting it. So we're safe on that front for at least the next four years.

I'm afraid though that the homosexual agitators won't go quietly into the night. They'll turn to the courts, hoping to find an activist judge or 2 who'll legislate from the bench. New Jersey is full of them, but I don't think even our liberal State Supreme Court is willing to overturn the will of the people's elected representatives.

It's time for everyone to move on. I hope that the supporters of same-sex marriage are man enough to admit defeat and let our government get back to working on the truly important issues
facing our state in the upcoming year.
