Well, I wouldn't worry, X, I don't think anyone wants to impose a code of behavior on the thread. But if everyone did, I still maintain that most people would opt to rule "ad hominem" attacks out of bounds (to take just the example I selected). And I do think people would naturally just "know" why they should be. Nor do I see anything "artificial" or "arbitrary" about it. But then, I am not a solipsist. <g> Shall we take a vote?
