Hole 98-24
Morrie, I was not referring to hole 98-23 that intersected the high grade copper zone but hole 98-24 that intersected 36m of massive sulfides 46m below hole 98-23. This was the first hole to intersect any sizeable zone below the high grade lens to date. The grades were marginal with zinc being the main ore running from 3.8% to 6.8% with little copper indicating a new target below the high grade lens. This high grade lens was the source for the old open pit and another larger lens may have been encountered on the last hole.
That is why Cambior changed focus on the first hole of the current program which should now be complete. It would be great if they intersect a large lens on the first hole. To me the high grade feeder is one of the largest clues, just keep following it until it leads you to another lens or runs out. For every 50m of strike the tonnage goes up by approx 250,000 tonnes.
Cambior even put out a news release for the latest drill program and stated that the la Plata had increased in scope and importance.
Currently we watch and wait to see what the drill reveals. The only thing I know for sure the market will do what it wants to.
