>Might want to own up to that, instead of pretending that taxes just have to go up like water just has to go down a river.

Who's pretending that?

>Passing entitlement programs without asking how to pay for it is incredibly dishonest. You're trying to appeal to a gullible public who thinks there's a disconnect between the entitlements they will be getting and the taxes that will be imposed upon society.

Not at all. I'd love to raise taxes now to meet the costs. I'll say so loudly. In the long run, a good plan will reduce health insurance costs which will offset the rise in taxes. I'm not sure that this particular plan does that, though...

>I know YOU think taxes ought to go up, but you're just BSing if you dismiss the concerns over how to pay for the entitlements.

Once again, sometimes you put things on the credit card. We have to pay for these things, but if we pay for them later, that's OK too.

>And yes, power does indeed corrupt. That's not a "spooky conspiracy theory." That's just another truth that you'd rather run away from or pretend it can be held in check with good intentions alone.

Which is why we put checks on power. There should be plenty of other checks that we haven't been putting in, but I'm fully in support of doing so. But making sure everyone has health insurance isn't really giving anyone more power; at least not in any way that scares me.
