Everybody is talking about how we are going to pay for the huge national debt, but nobody seems to be talking about the runaway spending which created that record-breaking debt

What is terrifying is the fact that 2/3 of the unbelieveable 3.8 trillion dollar federal budget is non-discretionary spending: Social Security, Medicare, debt service. Federal revenues (without borrowing) is $2.9 trillion, meaning the part of the discretionary federal budget - the part that funds actual government operations - that isn't borrowed is equal to the defense budget.

The entire federal operation is running on borrowed money, and our entitlements are swallowing us whole. And we just added a big new one with Obamacare. This is unsustainable.
