Toy- I use a full service broker with negotiated commissions for some of my trades. Partly this is to have a backup in case on line doesn't function, partly for research. The backup idea only works if the broker caters mainly to institutions and big accounts, and have lots of brokers and phone lines per customer. I read the facts in the research and try to ignore the opinions. If on line brokers can improve their service I would use them exclusively. I'm willing to pay more for more reliable service and research so I use Schwab.
As I mentioned in my previous post, it's the perception of connection that matters, not the actual connection. Some of these traders are so quick on the draw that stocks go up or down entirely because they have similar symbols even though they are otherwise completely different. Nice to hear from you again.
