The fact that $ 1/2 Trillion didn't do jack, should scare us. Mostly because you can imagine how large a rescue/intevention/bailout or whatever one wants to term it, would have to be to be successful. IMO, it is so large it cannot be accomplished. Would a $30 Trillion intervention work? The side effect from that would ruin the intended effect. I expect we simply have to take our medicine for what our financial system has evolved into. But you know Washington/Wall Street will not sit by and allow the inevitable to play out on its own. They will intervene, making the situation worse, adding years to the amount of time it will take to recover.
