agree with you about time and inevitable irr issue if one were to do what most value players do- wait. you said it yourself "patience". However, an active hands-on outspoken investment approach, (I call it "value activist" approach) can enhance irr enormously by bringing the catalyst to the table, being the catalyst or aiding the company in enhancing its roe and roa. it more fun investing this way too.
