Marden, I had always assumed that Phillips would produce those ASICs that were coincidental with its business plan (ie., set-top boxes, access points, etc.). My own guess was that someone like TI would produce the ASICs that were more general implementations of Wi-LAN's technology, involving the high-speed signal processing necessary for W-OFDM etc. I'm a newcomer to this field, but from what I've read, either of these companies, and more, could be producing the ASICs. I think a decision by TI to invoke fabrication would be a significant indicator of many things we cannot be told, for now.
