EyeDrMike--Yeah, I paid in spades for that one (selling 1,000 EGRP shares after reading a negative article on E*Trade in The Street.com). The funny thing is, I think their analysis was probably fundamentally correct (as far as it went, anyway), but what they didn't anticipate was the explosion in trading that took place in the last couple months of the year (and is still taking place), and the way that would then affect the price.

I agree with Bob that E*Trade's value may well have overrun what a sane person would peg it at, but I also believe that it's an unbelievably good buy for a long-term investor. The interview with Cotsakos (the site of which I just posted) gives a pretty good illustration of why optimism is warranted, in my view.
